Create a user-friendly website and drive website traffic to achieve business goals.

Introduction:

Leulu & Co., a company offering design and marketing services to government contractors, approached me to redesign their website. The goal was to improve the user experience (UX) by making the site more user-friendly, visually appealing (UI), and accessible across all devices.

Challenges:

The old website wasn't converting visitors into paying clients. The core issues were:

  • Unclear Value Proposition: The website failed to clearly communicate Leulu & Co.'s unique selling points and benefits to potential clients.

  • Poor User Journey: Confusing navigation and a lack of CTAs (calls to action) made it difficult for visitors to find the information they needed and convert.

  • Outdated Design: The website's visual identity wasn't modern or professional, hindering trust and brand perception.

  • Low-Contrast Design: The color scheme and layout lacked sufficient contrast, making it difficult for users to navigate and find the information they needed. This resulted in frustration and a high bounce rate

Results:

The redesigned website received positive feedback from users, with significant improvements noted in:

  • Navigation: Users found the website easier to navigate and locate desired information.

  • Engagement: Users spent more time browsing products and interacting with the website.

  • Brand Perception: The new design conveyed a more professional and trustworthy brand image.

  • Improved Client Conversions: A significant rise in contact form submissions and inquiries from potential clients.

  • Success Rate:

  • CEO Satisfaction: 100%: The CEO was thrilled with the website's effectiveness in attracting new clients.

  • Measurable Growth: The redesigned website directly contributed to Leulu & Co.'s business growth.

Research & Analysis:

Competitive Analysis:

  • Analyzed competitor websites to identify best practices and potential gaps in Leulu & Co.'s online presence.

User Research:

  • Conducted in-depth interviews with existing customers to understand their pain points and preferences while navigating the website

  • Distributed a user survey to gather broader feedback on website navigation, product presentation, and the overall user experience.

Findings:

  • Users found the website layout confusing and difficult to navigate.

  • Product information was not readily accessible.

  • The visual design lacked brand identity and felt outdated.

Solution & Design:

High-fidelity Wireframing:

  • Due to time constraints and close collaboration with the CEO, I jumped directly into high-fidelity wireframing in Figma by bypassing the low and mid-fidelity stages.

  • This allowed for a more rapid iteration process, focusing on visual design and user flow within a realistic representation of the final product.

Responsive Design:

  • To ensure a seamless user experience across all devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile), responsive design principles were incorporated from the outset.

  • This involved creating flexible layouts and utilizing media queries to adapt content and visuals for optimal viewing on different screen sizes.

UI & Design Iterations:

  • Working closely with the Leulu & Co. CEO, we iterated on the high-fidelity wireframes in Figma.

  • This ensured the design aligned with the CEO's vision and addressed user feedback.

  • Key improvements included:

  • A clearer navigation structure for intuitive browsing.

  • Enhanced product presentation with high-quality visuals and detailed information.

  • A modern, brand-consistent aesthetic that reflected Leulu & Co.'s values.

  • Responsive layout for optimal viewing on all devices.

Style Guide Development:

  • A comprehensive style guide was created to ensure design consistency across the website and future marketing materials.

  • This guide documents typography, color palettes, branding elements, and UI component usage.

Development & Implementation:

  • Following final design approval, the website was implemented using WordPress, a user-friendly content management system (CMS), allowing for easy future updates.

Conclusion:

By prioritizing user research and iterative design, the Leulu & Co. website redesign achieved its goals. The improved UX and UI led to a more engaging user experience, a stronger brand presence, and a measurable increase in website traffic. This case study demonstrates the effectiveness of user-centered design in creating websites that are both visually appealing, functionally effective, and drive positive business outcomes.
